HDR is currently looking for a temporary Construction Inspector in Thief River Falls, MN for the 2024 construction season.
Primary Responsibilities In this role, we'll count on you to: Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to heavy civil infrastructure, such as roads and bridges Monitor, record and inspect progress on construction projects and track and calculate quantities for work completed Collaborate with other field representatives and/or Project Managers Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, quantify quantities with documented calculations and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents Coordinate field materials sampling and testing, including in-place soil compaction testing, aggregate gradation testing, concrete slump and air testing, and casting concrete test cylinders Provide guidance to less-experienced field staff as needed Perform other duties as needed #LI-LA1 Qualifications Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Preferred Qualifications Technical school or Associate degree Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection Ability to interpret construction schedules Why HDR At HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it.
