General Purpose: Responsible for operating crane (hydro, crawler, and lattice cranes) to hoist, move and place materials and drive piling
Work Schedule: Days and hours vary depending on the assigned project.
Responsibilities & Duties
Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
Operate levers and pedals to raise, lower and rotate the boom and raise and lower load lines
Raise, lower and rotate boom or load by sight or according to signals from a helper
Observe rigging operations and safety of the load
Ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times
Perform daily inspections of cranes
Monitor weather conditions and site conditions
Clean, maintain and lubricate equipment
Obtain any required permits
Crane operator should be responsible at all times when operating a crane
Crane operator should be versatile and have a cooperative attitude as they may be asked to do other jobs on construction sites when they are not operating a crane
Maintain a professional appearance
Other duties as assigned by Foreman or Superintendent
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent GED.
Applicable certifications required
Required Experience
Minimum of 6 months experience, one year certificate from a technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Skills/Licenses/Certifications
Valid driver s license to operate motor vehicles.
Certified crane operator certification
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10 s and 100 s, ability to perform these operations using unit weight measurements and volumes.
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
Workers should be able to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards
