Job Description:
Northridge Construction is looking for an experienced Assistant Superintendent to support the Project Manager and Superintendent in the successful completion of assigned projects.
The selected candidate will join a result orientated team to oversee job site safety, quality, project scheduling, and communications with the architect and construction field workers.
The hired team member will have a minimum of 4 years of construction management experience and vast knowledge of construction.
Must have the ability to communicate verbally with individuals.
Must have excellent problem-solving skills, a great work ethic, and people skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure projects are operating safely
Assist Superintendent with managing job site safety, quality, and schedule for assigned projects from pre-construction to closeout.
Work collaboratively with Project Manager, project team members, and subcontractors
Assist with setting up job site logistics, field coordination, and project schedule
Maintain and update project records including RFI’s, ASI’s, and as-builts
In collaboration with the Superintendent, perform daily job site walks and submit daily safety audit reports
Coordinate with building inspections, subcontractor inspections, and agencies
Assist with creating and enforcing a site-specific emergency action plan from assigned projects in collaboration with the project manager
Participate in the review all project documents for constructability and content, including shop drawings
Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with client, Construction Manager, project team, and consultants/architect/engineers
Conduct and/or attend Foreman meetings, pre-task meetings, safety meetings and project staff meetings
Assist with the management of job site production and quality
Attend company and industry events including meetings, trainings, workshops, etc.
Assemble punch list on buildings near turn
Work with Project Management to ensure quality and timely turnovers
Supervises all phases of construction as assigned or needed
Skills:
Must have an understanding of the construction industry, job site safety requirements, planning and scheduling, and relevant technology
Physical strength and dexterity for carrying heavy loads, climbing to significant heights, and working in awkward spaces
Must be initiative, have great communication, teamwork and dependability
Able to read plans, specifications and be up to date with current technology programs such as ProCore
Must have excellent time management skills
Work well with others and be able to relay information to others
Ability to communicate with various levels of management
Experience and Education:
4+ years construction management
Bachelor’s degree in construction management (preferred)
