Forks Lath & Plaster (FLP) is currently *seeking an Intern to join our team ! The Estimator Intern will work very closely with our Estimating and Project Management departments, gaining extensive knowledge on estimating and budgeting within in the commercial construction industry.

_*The primary role of the Estimator Intern includes the following essential functions:*_
* Obtain and evaluate bids from various contractors, vendors, and suppliers and identifies qualified bidders
* Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects
* Understand how to prepare the required documents and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
* Understands how to resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
* Maintains unit pricing database by collecting current market rates from contractors, and review of recent bid results and monitoring market trends
* Captures historical cost data and entry to cost modeling forecasting software
* Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and other criteria to provide detailed estimates
* Utilize company approved costing methodology, data, and systems to present estimate results in a detailed breakdown format suitable for use by the project team
* Understand timelines and applicable project deadlines
* Maintain knowledge of pricing, schedules, and typical construction details.
* Maintains quality service by following company standards
* Build and maintains effective relationships with customers, owners, contractors, suppliers, and other FLP employees
* Assist other departments, as needed
_*Qualifications and Skills:*_
* *Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering , Architecture, or other related degree, with a current GPA of 2.
75 or above*
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Attention to detail and focus on quality
* Strong analytical, problem solving, organization and time management skills
_This position can either be located in Fargo, ND or Grand Forks, ND.
