Position Summary:
Reporting to the Process Planning Supervisor and as a member of the Manufacturing Engineering department this position is responsible for maintaining and creating production routings and bills of material from engineering documentation.
Also plans the material flow, labor and tooling requirements for new and existing products.
What you will do:
Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO's), Routing Change Requests (RCR's) and Engineering Authorized Deviations (EAD's).
Interpret engineering releases.
Create production routings with estimated labor times for fabricated parts, assemblies and installations.
Calculate raw material usage for new fabricated parts.
Update production routings of components parts and sub-assemblies.
Communicate with manufacturing engineering, production, inventory control, and purchasing and production control planning to ensure implementation of engineering changes.
Provide new design and contract support.
Participate in SWAT meetings and action open SWAT issues as required.
Assist in resolution of MRP processing issues.
Conduct process observations.
Support and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives.
Skills and Experience:
Post-secondary degree in engineering or technology with previous manufacturing process planning experience.
APICS or CPIM certification preferred.
Solid understanding of multi-disciplinary manufacturing processes is required, including: metal fabrication, welding, assembly work and painting.
Professional team player with solid interpersonal/communications skills with the ability to analyze data and problem solve while functioning in a fast-paced environment.
Detail oriented and well organized.
Strong knowledge of MS Office, Excel, MRP processes are required.
Working knowledge of Oracle and formal APICS training would be considered an asset.
