*Job Title: *AssistantShipping Manager *Department: *Shipping *Reports To:* Shipping Manager / Chief Operations Officer *Special Note*: The Assistant Shipping Manager is to be trained to eventually become the Shipping Manager.
No firm date of the retirement of the current Shipping Manager has been set.
*Job Summary*: The Shipping Manager will ensure that product is packaged and coordinated to ship in a timely manner when received, coordinating with customers on shipping method and packaging details when needed.
In addition to shipping responsibilities the Shipping Manager will ensure that the parts received will be verified against the collected WO details, checking that material and labor records are accurate and then process transactions in the ERP system to record parts going to Outside Processing or being completed and closed.
The Shipping Manager will coordinate with Scheduling and the Manufacturing & Quality Manager to make sure that non-standard requirements are fulfilled.
The Shipping Manager will also coordinate with the Purchasing Manager to ensure that inventory of common items is reviewed, correct and properly stored for future use.
*Core Roles:* * Communicate with customers, vendors, quality and manufacturing departments.
* Verify WO Details for Labor / Material completeness and process these records in the ERP System.
* Ensure proper shipping documentation, slips, freight bills, receivables, etc.
are executed appropriately.
*Duties and Responsibilities:* * Communicate with Scheduling on the status of parts being delivered.
Prioritize due dates with production and outside vendors to meet customer demands.
* Verify WO Details and compare to acceptable ranges.
Report or investigate any errant records.
* Review and process outside Processing AP and submit any resulting payables for payment.
* Communicate with the manufacturing department on the need for proper containers to avoid handling parts more than needed.
* Maintain housekeeping practices ensuring a safe and professional work environment.
*Required Skills:* * Knowledge or experience with inventory control related to warehousing.
* Good computer skills, oral and written communication are essential.
* Valid Driver License – Ability to drive a pick-up truck with trailer.
*Preferred Skills:* * Experience with shipping and receiving inventory.
* Previous experience with ISO 9001 requirements.
* Use of forklift(s) for loading / unloading.
– Will Train *Physical Requirements: (If appropriate to include)* * Must be able to lift weights appropriate to assigned task (Mechanical lifts are available for heavier loads).
* Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods (Up to three (3) hours).
* Must be able to bend at waist and/or knees to properly lift tote of parts.
* Must be able to push loads on carts up to 500 lbs.
* Must be able to perform simple addition, copying figures, counting, and recording.
* Must be able to follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions.
* Must be able to safely perform repetitive motions with fingers, wrists, hands, arms and legs.
