*DESCRIPTION*
The Structural Engineer is responsible for developing and improving light-gauge cold form manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.
The Structural Engineer possesses a proven track record of designing and evaluating new and existing structures while ensuring compliancy with codes.
This position is committed to identifying issues and achieving solutions to increase safety, functionality, and aesthetics.
*JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*
· Evaluates light-gauge, cold-form manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
· Works closely with our production team to help develop improved manufacturing and design processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with contractors.
· Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
*QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS*
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with a preference of Structural Engineering emphasis
· 2+ years’ of Engineering experience is required
· Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are required
· Cold-formed steel framing design experience required
· Basic knowledge of CAD programs is required
· Experience with design of reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, and precast concrete is preferred
· Experience in Construction Management is a plus
· Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
· Must be able to prioritize work to meet scheduled deadlines while handling multiple tasks
· Ability to function as a team player
· Superior organizational and time management skills
