HIRING PART- TIME SCHOOL BUS PARA
We are hiring School Bus PARAS for all levels of school age children in Grand Forks ND.
It's a great time to get on track in a new employment opportunity, with a great company.
This opportunity is to help us provide safe transport, compassion and empathy to youth of the Special Needs children within the Fargo area schools.
Our Para's ride on smaller buses, assisting with special needs and early childhood development students.
Assisting students with the following: assist student on the bus, making sure students are buckled in seat belts or car seats, and assisting Bus Driver with wheelchair students.
Student Management: Maintaining a safe environment for students to be transported.
Small numbers of students - usually 5-12 children on each School Bus
Challenging and satisfying work - needing a patient and mature approach in handling children.
Para Position Requirements-
Physical Capability: Must be physically capable of assisting students with varying
needs, including lifting, positioning, and securing students in their seats, which may include car
seats and wheelchairs, as required for safety.
: Must be capable of bending, kneeling, and
crouching to assist students with various needs, including securing seat belts, adjusting
equipment, and providing hands-on support as required.
Empathy and Patience: Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding
towards students with special needs, recognizing their unique challenges and providing
appropriate support and encouragement.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Willingness to work collaboratively with bus drivers,
other paraeducators, and school staff to ensure the safety and well-being of all students during
transportation.
Fluency in English: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are
essential for effective communication with both students and other staff members.
Reliability and Punctuality: Consistent attendance and punctuality are crucial for
ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school, as well as for
building trust and reliability within the transportation team.
Training and Professional Development: Willingness to participate in ongoing training
and professional development opportunities related to student transportation, special education,
behavior management, and other relevant topics.
