TENURE-TRACK POSITION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate degree in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, or related field.

LECTURER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate or Master’s degree in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Education , or related field.
Priority given to Agricultural Business, Agricultural Finance, Agricultural Marketing, and Production Economics fields.
Applicants nearing completion of their degree will be considered.
Evidence of agricultural business industry experience.
The position requires excellent communication skills; ability to relate complex concepts to diverse audiences; demonstrated cultural competency, and commitment to an experiential educational philosophy within the scope of the land grant mission.

TENURE-TRACK AND LECTURER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience at an accredited academic institution and an interest in undergraduate teaching.
Experience in course development and delivery using current instructional technologies.
Experience in course delivery using multiple delivery modalities.
Experience in online education.
Experience with incorporating service learning in teaching.
Research experience in an academic institution, experience/track record of seeking and successful implementation of externally funded projects and grants, evidence of scholarly publication.
(Only in the tenure-track position) Experience in establishing close working relationships with agricultural industries, organizations, and government agencies.
Experience with academic advising of undergraduate students.
Full-time, nine-month position in Agricultural Business in the Agriculture and Natural Resources Department at the Crookston campus of the University of Minnesota, with an August 2024 start date.
Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
A competitive fringe benefits package is offered.
Salary range $65,000 - $80,000.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction to on campus and online students in the Agricultural Business program.
There is an emphasis on experiential and competency-based education.
Course topics include, but are not limited to, Introduction to Agribusiness, Agricultural Sales, Agricultural Marketing, Ag Business Records and Finance, Business Plan Development, Economics for Agri-business Management, and/or other Agriculture Business courses suited to qualifications, expertise, and programmatic needs.
Instruction and courses may be offered through both our on-campus and online programs, which serve both full-time and part-time students of diverse backgrounds and career goals.
A successful tenure-track candidate is expected to establish his/her own research program, with a focus on Agricultural Business.
The candidate (tenure-track OR lecturer) is expected to contribute to further develop current and future programs; advise students; engage in department and campus service activities; participate in recruitment and retention efforts; help expand our network with the industry to benefit our programs, student experience, and student employment opportunities.
The teaching load for the tenure-track position is 24 credits per academic year.
The teaching load for the lecturer position is 30 credits per academic year.
Additional expectations may include supervision of undergraduate student research, advising student clubs and national competition teams.
