Summary of Work
Provide instructional and assessment services to students, and adults in the expanded core curriculum (i.
e.
, Braille, orientation and mobility, vocation/career, technology, daily living skills, study skills and recreation/leisure)
Provide instruction as part of center-based team in Grand Forks.
Provide outreach services as assigned within the region and statewide.
Consult with and provide vision specific technical assistance and training to persons who are blind and visually impaired, local education, rehabilitation and medical agencies.
Participate in the development and implementation of IEP goals and objectives
Prepare assessment reports including appropriate adaptations and recommendations.
Prepare functional vision evaluation/learning media assessments and make recommendations.
Public relations: Provide information and in-service training.
Compile and enter monthly service data.
Travel with this region will be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Education or Special Education.
Eligibility for licensure with North Dakota Educational Standards and Practice Board.
Subject area endorsement of specialization, certified or willing to become certified as a Teach of the Visually Impaired with in two (2) years.
