Instructor of Energy and Petroleum Engineering 494228 Grand Forks, North Dakota, United States Full-time Faculty Salary/Position Classification $61,000+ commensurate with experience, 9-month Contract, Exempt 40 hours per week 100% Remote Work Availability: No Hybrid Work Availability: No Purpose of Position The Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering invites applications for an instructor, beginning in Fall 2024 contingent on the availability of funding.
Duties & Responsibilities Teaching petroleum and energy engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, depending on qualifications.
Participation in recruiting and outreach activities.
Assisting in the management of the department’s labs, including the Drilling and Completion Lab, Drilling Simulator, Virtual Reality Lab, and Slurry Loop Lab.
Other duties as needed by the department.
Required Competencies Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to teach, inspire, and mentor students Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and students Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside the department and the College of Engineering and Mines Ability to adapt to current methods of teaching, including online delivery Ability to engage industry partners and connect course content to the practice of engineering in the field Minimum Requirements M.

degree in Petroleum Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a closely related field.
Five years of experience working in an engineering role in the energy industry.
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications A Ph.
D.
degree in Petroleum Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a closely related field.
Ten years of experience working in an engineering role in the energy industry.
