Recruitment & Retention Specialist 494172 Grand Forks, North Dakota, United States Education & Human Development Other Full-time Staff Closing on: Jan 31 2024 Salary/Position Classification $42,000-$44,000 Annual, Exempt 40 hours per week 100% Remote Work Availability: No Hybrid Work Availability: No Purpose of Position The Recruitment and Retention Specialist will be responsible for directly support the mission of teacher recruitment and retention as needed, including but not limited to social media outreach as well as facilitating admissions, recruitment, and College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) efforts and events.
This position will support forming effective partnerships with school districts and other educational leaders.
This responsibility will include event planning, social marketing activities, and managing logistics for the various activities being developed by CEHD.
Duties & Responsibilities Advocate for teacher education workforce Work with Director of Marketing to create “Why Teach” informational materials to promote teaching as a career path.
Work with Associate Dean of Student Services and Director of Teacher Education to implement the “Elevate Ed” campaign by developing partnerships with UND and GFPS athletics.
The athletics partnerships should provide opportunity to promote education careers in collaboration with athletic events.
Support Outreach events with specific materials and presentations that advocate for the greater teacher education workforce Partner with school districts in recruiting efforts Work with school districts throughout the state to develop partnerships with an emphasis on recruitment of high school students to enter the teaching profession.
Coordinate statewide initiatives such as apprenticeship and higher education pathways programs.
Track all students from admissions through graduation and into workforce with follow up reporting.
Track ND high school’s teacher education admissions data and develop plan for which schools should be targeted each semester for recruitment of undergraduate teacher education students.
Develop and implement a plan for 5-7 high school visits per semester to target the recruitment of high schools students into the education professions.
Support Teacher Education professional development opportunities Engage with current k-12 districts to build new opportunities for professional development for in-service teachers based on specific professional development needs of district.
Initiate new district partnerships with k-12 school districts for the purpose of providing professional development opportunities, collaborating with each teacher education area.
Promote all professional development opportunities by coordinating marketing efforts with OEL and DPI.
Support current summer professional development opportunities in college-wide conferences and work to increase summer professional development offerings in the college.
Interface with the public regarding teacher recruitment and retention Work with CEHD Director of Communications, UND Marketing , and internal / external media to raise awareness, increase understanding, and elevate the teaching profession.
Serve as CEHD’s Teacher Education representative in promoting teacher recruitment and retention at all admissions and recruitment events.
Prepare and deliver professional public presentations aimed at disseminating information about teacher recruitment and retention needs and goals on behalf of CEHD.
Develop and maintain college interactive displays and all admissions materials promoting education careers throughout the physical building and serve as primary admission tour.
Develop and execute summer admission events during registration week.
Provide continuous social media engagement to promote educational careers as well as recruitment into teacher education programs.
Create branded content that can be used for recruitment as well as the promotion of current teacher education faculty and programs to be used in a wide variety of venues.
Support CEHD marketing and outreach efforts in the area of teacher education for admission purposes.
Required Competencies Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively build relationships.
Ability to travel throughout North Dakota and the region Strong communication skills and comfort in public speaking.
Initiative to independently prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines, problem-solve, and think critically.
