Job Title: Assistant Professor of Geography
Location: Mayville State University, Mayville, ND
Compensation: $48,250 - $68,250 - to commensurate with experience

Position Information: Mayville State University welcomes applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Geography beginning August 19, 2024.
Teaching responsibilities include introductory and upper-level courses of Geography including cultural and physical geography.
The teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester of introductory principles, world regional geography, and a rotation of regional and non-regional elective courses or others depending on qualifications, interests, and departmental needs.
Class assignments include face-to-face and online instruction.
Summer instruction may be possible.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.
D.
in Geography.
The minimum qualification for the position is a Master’s degree, but candidates with significant progress toward a Ph.
D.
are preferred.
Minimum qualifications:
Master's degree in Geography or Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Geography
Demonstration of clear, written, and oral communication skills
Demonstration of organizational skills
Commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level
Commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds
Commitment to academic advisement of students
Proficient use of instructional technology
Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment
Preferred qualifications:
Ph.
D.
in Geography
Instructional experience within a higher education setting
3 years secondary education teaching experience in Geography
