Job Title: Assistant Professor of English
Location: Mayville State University, Mayville, ND
Compensation: $44,000 - $54,000 - dependent upon experience
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (health insurance premiums paid 100% by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, and tuition waiver.

Position Information: Mayville State University welcomes applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of English beginning August 19, 2024.
Teaching responsibilities will include remedial and introductory level of English composition, communication, literature, English special topics, or others depending on qualifications and interests as well as departmental needs.
The successful candidate will teach at least 12 credit hours per semester which will include face-to-face and online instruction.
Summer instruction may be possible.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.
D.
in English, or significant progress toward a Ph.
D.
, with an interest in engaging undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds in literature and writing.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master's degree in English or Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in English
• Demonstration of clear, written, and oral communication skills
• Demonstration of organizational skills
• Commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level
• Commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds
• Commitment to academic advisement of students
• Commitment to student recruitment and retention for the English B.

• Proficient use of instructional technology
• Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment
Preferred Qualifications:

• Instructional experience within a higher education setting
