Full-Time Paraprofessional role starting in the 2024-2025 school year.
Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency, Elementary Education Degree preferred.
Qualifications: Must meet one of the following:
1.
Associates (or higher) degree (attach transcript in attachment section).
2.
Working knowledge in reading, writing, and math by completing two years (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education.

3.
Pass the Master Teacher Assessment test which is a North Dakota approved assessment of skills in reading, writing, and math.

Basic academic skills, excellent communication and human relation skills.
Desire to assist high-risk students to be successful remaining flexible according to varied student needs.
Ability to remain open-minded, fair and motivated in this environment.
Job Goal: Assist Classroom and Title 1 teachers with instruction and small group
activities.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist high-risk students who have limited academic achievement to attain their highest level of performance.
Assist in the provision of reading and writing which will help to supplement students with extra support in language arts.
Assist Title 1 Reading Specialist and classroom teachers.
Assist in carrying out activities to achieve goals and objectives listed in the students’ assessments.
Update students’ reports and records.
Assist students in instructional activities, curriculum modification, and adaptations with planning and supervision from the classroom teacher and Title 1 teacher.
Supervise students in small and large groups and in hallways.
Participate in training and in-services to acquire specific skills needed to perform responsibilities.
Maintain high level of ethical behavior.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the district supervisor.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk and stand.
Lift sixty (60) lbs.
occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl.
The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely.
Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Terms of Employment: Nine (9) months, academic school year
Evaluation: Job performance will be evaluated by the Supervising Teacher, Building Administrator.
