Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
Applicants must have a degree in education or related field, reference to applicants with North Dakota teaching license.
Qualifications: Effective Communication skills, core academic skills, ability to work with and relate to age appropriate students and their academic problems.
Job Goal: Assist resource educator and/or interventions coordinator in a tutorial capacity with instruction and classroom supervision.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: Assist vocational educator and/or interventions coordinator by providing for academic and career education support by tutoring students individually or in small groups.
Duties include: Help students with organizational skills Provide tutorial support for core academic and career and technical education classes Teach strategy-based study skills and tips and guide students in applying and developing these skills in their academic classes Assist with review of daily assignments Review for tests and monitoring of test taking Monitor progress toward passing and earning credit in classes Review and follow educational plans for students Edit written work Guide and help to develop decision making skills Access resource materials and have available for student/teacher use Supervise independent study courses as needed Assist resource educator and/or interventions coordinator in the development and management of learning centers.
Assist resource educator and/or interventions coordinator in implementing behavior management plans for individual students.
Assist resource educator and/or interventions coordinator with clerical duties.
Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand.
The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
Terms of Employment: Nine (9) months, academic school year Evaluation: Job performance will be evaluated by the Supervising Teacher, Building Administrator.
