Job Summary The Software Engineer is part of the Enterprise Services Applications team tasked with delivering enterprise level web applications, development and integrations for the University system and its constituents.
This position is responsible for supporting, collecting, analyzing, and evaluating the needs of the North Dakota University System and its institutions.
The focus of the Software Engineer is designing, creating, evaluating, modifying, maintaining, and configuring software solutions to meet organization needs and user specifications.
The engineer should continuously strive to improve the work of self and the team to supply the highest quality work and efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in an IT related field or equivalent education +2 years of related work experience At least 3 years of experience in application programming, design/analysis.
Demonstrated experience in application administration in a large multi-faceted organization.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think creatively, quickly learn new technologies, and adapt to changes.
Preferred Work Experience in Addition to Formal Education/Training: Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field Experience with enterprise level multi-tiered deployment environments such as Dev, Test, Stage, and Production.
Working knowledge of a programming language (e.
g.
C#, Java, PHP).
Working knowledge of web technologies/languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript Working knowledge of content management systems (ex.
WordPress, Drupal, SharePoint).
Experience working in a higher education.
Experience working with the North Dakota University System.
