We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor to join our team.
In this role, you will provide expert guidance and support in the areas of systems engineering, technical analysis, and operational planning for complex weapons systems.
Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful operation, maintenance, and readiness of critical defense systems.
This Position is a full-time position in Grand Forks, ND.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Engineering Expertise:
Serve as a subject matter expert in systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Provide technical guidance and support in the design, development, integration, and testing of complex weapons systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems meet operational requirements, performance objectives, and compliance standards.
Identify and mitigate technical risks, issues, and challenges throughout the lifecycle of weapons systems.
Technical Analysis and Assessment:
Conduct detailed technical analysis and assessments of weapons system capabilities, performance, and vulnerabilities.
Utilize advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis tools to evaluate system performance and identify areas for improvement.
Provide technical recommendations and solutions to enhance system effectiveness, reliability, and maintainability.
Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and advancements in weapons system engineering to inform decision-making.
Operational Planning and Support:
Collaborate with operational personnel to understand mission requirements and operational constraints.
Assist in the development of operational plans, procedures, and guidelines for the deployment and use of weapons systems.
Provide technical advice and support during operational exercises, testing, and training events.
Participate in operational reviews and contribute to the development of strategies to optimize system performance and mission success.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and status updates.
Maintain accurate records of system configurations, technical specifications, and operational parameters.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and standards for system documentation and reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Advanced degree preferred.
Extensive experience (10+ years) in systems engineering and technical advisory roles, preferably in the defense industry or DoD environment.
In-depth knowledge of weapons systems, their design principles, and operational considerations.
Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies, requirements management, and configuration control.
Proficient in using modeling, simulation, and analysis tools for technical assessments and performance evaluations.
Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, standards, and regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Active TS/SCI security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
