*Qualifications:* *Required to hold at least ONE of the following qualifications:* a.
A bachelor's degree in the field of early childhood education or child development; b.
A bachelor's degree with at least six months of experience in a child care center or similar setting and one of the following: (1) Eight semester hours or twelve quarter hours of department-approved early childhood education or child development; (2) One hundred twenty hours of department-approved early childhood training; or (3) A director's credential approved by the department; c.
An associate's degree in the field of early childhood education or child development with at least six months of experience in a child care center or similar setting; d.
An associate's degree with at least one year of experience in a child care center or similar setting and one of the following: (1) Eight semester hours or twelve quarter hours of department-approved early childhood education or child development; (2) One hundred twenty hours of department-approved early childhood training; or (3) A director's credential approved by the department; e.
A teaching certificate in elementary education with at least six months of experience in a child care center or similar setting; f.
A current certification as a child development associate or successful completion of a department-approved diploma program with emphasis in early childhood or child care, with at least one year of experience in a child care center or similar setting; or g.
Certification from a Montessori teacher training program with at least one year of experience in a Montessori school, child care center, or similar setting and at least one of the following: (1) Eight semester hours or twelve quarter hours of department-approved child development or early childhood education; (2) One hundred twenty hours of department-approved early childhood training; or (3) A director's credential approved by the department *Main Duties:* *Administrative* – Ensure the completion of administrative tasks involved in running a child care center in a timely manner as set per federal, state or local governance agencies and growth promotion of the child care center.
* Maintain attendance, health and safety records * Inventory supplies (janitorial, classroom, groceries) and order weekly * Review menu * Submit monthly food bank order * Review and file CACFP’s * Participate in the monthly Grand Forks Directors’ Association meetings.
Support and collaborate with community directors * Maintain community relations through events and print collateral * Answer daily emails and phone calls * Review and follow-up on Accounts Receivables * Receive payments * Create parent newsletters * Complete and submit monthly billing reports for CCA and Foster children * Apply for grants * Schedule fundraisers * Update waiting list * Post childcare openings (Facebook and CCR&R) * Conduct tours (if needed) * New child orientation (fill out paperwork, review questions, etc) * Keep up with trends in the Early Childhood field * Schedule Parent-Teacher conferences * Review curriculum *Human Resources* – Responsible for hiring staff, including interviewing, checking the background and clearances of all applicants.
Make certain that appropriate training is identified and conducted.
Director is responsible for overall staff supervision.
Maintain work schedules and ensure guidelines of staff to child ratios are met.
Assists BOD with reviewing/revising job descriptions and conducts periodic performance reviews.
Director is responsible for termination of staff.
* Recruit, hire, train and manage staff * Maintain jobs postings and follow-up on inquiries through job service, UND site, Facebook, Indeed, etc.
* Ensure all Human Resource paperwork is filled out correctly and filed * Ensure all staff members are up-to-date with all social service regulations, certifications and training requirements * Host new staff orientation (binder) * Maintain accurate records on staff members, including but not limited to health immunizations, CPR certifications, in-service training completion and vacation hours * Assist staff in setting and working toward professional goals * Review Policies and Procedures regularly * Evaluate staff and conduct annual evaluations * Work with, support and train staff * Staff scheduling * Review staff timecards and compile payroll information for the accountant * Maintain staff morale * Plan and conduct staff meetings *Compliance* – Accepts responsibility for ensuring that the organization is in full compliance with all licensing and safety regulations.
Maintain licensing paperwork and schedule needed inspections.
* Ensure all child care licenses are current and renewed before expiration date * Institutes fire and disaster preparedness drills as required by law in a timely manner (i.
e.
fire extinguishers, sprinkler system, surveillance cameras, etc.
) * Develop policies/procedures for dealing with various types of emergencies in the child care center * Maintain accurate records on families and children in accordance with North Dakota Child Care Licensing regulations * Ensure that all insurance polices are current and up to date *Board Support* – Confer regularly with the Board President to carry our activities of UDN.
Assist President in preparing agenda and materials for the Board.
Assist the Board in identifying and comprehending legal issues, current tools and techniques related to child care centers.
* Lend direction and guidance to the Board of Directors in policy-making * Keep the Board of Directors informed on all matters relating to United Day Nursery * Recommending to Board of Directors physical plant needs * Assist with facilitation of board meetings as needed * Assist board and committees with prospective board/member candidates as needed * Other Duties as assigned *Benefits:* Paid Time Off, Meals (breakfast, lunch, snack), AFLAC – employee paid, 30% Child Care Discount, Employee Referral Bonus, Paid Professional Development Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $48,000.
