is seeking a SVP Controller*
*Position Overview:* We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controller to oversee financial management and control functions for our large crop input and agronomy operation consisting of seven expansive locations across the Eastern ND and Northwest MN.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in agricultural finance, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to support the growth and sustainability of our agronomybusiness.
*Responsibilities:*
*Financial Leadership:*
* Develop and execute financial strategies to optimize profitability and operational efficiency across all agronomy locations.
* Collaborate with executive management to establish financial goals, budgets, and forecasts aligned with the company's overall objectives.
* Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.
*Financial Reporting:*
* Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and performance metrics to management and stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
*Budgeting and Forecasting:*
* Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with operational managers to establish realistic financial targets for each agronomy location.
* Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing actionable insights to address deviations from planned financial performance.
*Cost Management:*
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize resource allocation, reduce operational expenses, and enhance overall financial efficiency.
*Risk Management:*
* Implement effective internal controls to mitigate financial risks, safeguard assets, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
* Monitor and assess potential financial risks associated with market fluctuations and other external factors affecting agronomy operations.
*Cash Flow Management:*
* Manage cash flow by overseeing accounts payable and receivable processes, optimizing working capital, and ensuring adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations.
* Manage relationship with suppliers and internal salesmen to ensure payments and receivables are done on time an up to company expectations.
*Team Leadership:*
* Provide guidance and training to team members, enabling their professional growth and development.
*Strategic Planning:*
* Participate in the development of long-term strategic plans for the agronomy operation, offering financial insights and recommendations to support growth and diversification initiatives.
*Technology and Systems:*
* Stay updated on technological advancements in agricultural finance software and systems, recommending and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial processes.
* Enhance efficiencies between our financial software systems at our agronomy facilities and its suppliers to ensure timely reporting of financials
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master's degree or CPA designation preferred.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity within the agricultural sector.
* Strong understanding of agricultural economics, market trends, and financial challenges specific to large-scale farming operations.
* Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting tools.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
* Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
* High level of integrity and ethics in handling financial matters and sensitive data.
* Familiarity with agricultural software and technology systems is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.
00 - $110,000.
