Job Overview:
*Nelson Auto,* a dealership group consisting of 8 new vehicle dealerships, is looking for a Controller to oversee the accounting functions of the Grand Forks dealerships in our auto group (Ford and Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram).
We are a family-owned dealer group with locations in Grand Forks, ND, Fergus Falls, MN, Dickinson, ND, Williston, ND, and Watford City, ND.
We are looking for a candidate with significant experience in dealership accounting, team leadership and financial analysis.
The Controller would report directly to the dealer group President and would be critically involved in all board meetings, strategy sessions and major initiatives.
The Controller would manage a team of 7+ accounting personnel and would be a key leader within the dealer group.
We are looking for a candidate with significant ambition and drive as we are planning to continue to expand our group with incremental dealerships.

*Responsibilities and Duties*
The Controller's primary responsibilities include:
* Leadership and oversight of the Office staff within the dealerships
* Review and implementation of accounting team's processes and procedures
* Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of weekly, monthly and annual reporting
* Engagement in annual budgeting and forecasting
* Oversight of annual accounting review and tax filings
* Development and mentorship of accounting staff
* Deep knowledge of accounting software tools
* Actively participate in the strategic direction of the Company
*Qualifications and Skills*
* At least 5 years of accounting experience in a car dealership or similar business
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
* Demonstrated team leadership/management abilities
* CPA preferred but not required
