Bravera Bank has an exciting paid opportunity for a current college/university student! We are looking for an Intern at our bank in Devils Lake, ND, to begin in May 2024.
During your internship with Bravera, a majority of your time will be spent supporting the business and ag banking officers in developing and maintaining relationships with business customers.
In addition, the position will provide backup for the retail department.
In that capacity, the student will be responsible for quickly and accurately processing a customer’s transaction while maintaining a positive and professional image.
In your internship, you’ll be working with a team to perform various duties relating to both lending and retail banking.
Day-to-day activities will be under the supervision of the Market President and the Branch Manager.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Lending- Responsible for supporting the banking officers as they cultivate new and existing business customer relationships.
Provide loan support to assigned banking officers.
Develop knowledge of the Bravera Loan Policy and Procedures.
Assist banking officers and assistants as they maintain appropriate and complete documentation and files as necessary.
Begin to learn the credit analysis process.
Assist Lenders with general research and administrative recordkeeping, loan documentation, filing, etc.
Learn the appropriate products offered by our organization and collaborate with others to implement them for our clients.
Retail- Assist customers with accurate processing of their transactions while providing quality customer service.
Process commercial and personal deposits, credit card payments/cash advances, savings bonds, cashiers’ checks, check orders, telephone transfer requests and Tax & Treasury deposits.
Accuracy in handling, maintaining and monitoring cash drawer.
Balance and verify adequate levels of cash in the vault.
Open and maintain deposit accounts, Internet banking, Debit/ATM cards, wire transfers, address change requests and IRA accounts.
Cross-sell all bank products and services.
Know and follow current banking policies and regulations relating to the deposit and withdrawal of funds.
Monitor and verify internal control processes and procedures relating to the Teller area.
Open and follow safe deposit box procedures.
Customer problem resolution.
Branch capture duties.
Internship Schedule: This position can be part-time or full-time, depending on student’s schedule.
Hours will be between Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.
m.
to 5:00 p.
m.
and will be flexible to meet student’s needs.
The internship will run from May 2024 to August 2024.
Qualifications: HS diploma or equivalent; Currently enrolled in a post-secondary accounting, finance, banking, marketing, human resources or business program; Ability to work in a team setting and be self-motivated; Strong communication skills and effective listening skills; Close attention to details and strong organizational skills; Willing to learn new tasks and not afraid to take on a new challenge; Ability to work with numbers accurately and attentively; Knowledge of general accounting/bookkeeping principles along with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary.
