ICON is hiring an Accountant.

This position is responsible for a wide variety of finance-related tasks in preparing financial records.
You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess strong computer and verbal and written communication skills.
*Accountabilities:*
* Compile, analyze, and report financial statements and budget performance
* Create periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc.
* Verify, process, and reconcile invoices accurately and efficiently ensuring proper coding and approval
* Perform account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
* Provide accurate, timely and relevant financial data to managers, investors, and other entities
* Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.
e.
GAAP, FASB), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control
* Recommend strategies to reduce costs and enhance revenue
* Perform audits and coordinate with project managers and vendors to resolve discrepancies or issues
* Assist with and act as the primary point-of-contact for auditor requests
* Prepare tax returns and documentation for external auditors
* Keep informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting and aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines
* Complete analysis of employee expenditures
* Manage income and expenditure accounts
* Maintain accurate and organized financial records related to accounts payable
* Collaborate with the finance team to improve and streamline accounts payable procedures
*Requirements:*
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and minimum of 3 years accounting experience
* Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills
* Experience in handling sensitive information in a confidential manner
* Experience with accounting software and data entry
* Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and QuickBooks
* Advanced knowledge and experience of spreadsheets
* Ability to prioritize work, to be self-motivated and to decide what tasks must be done to carry out work assignments
* Ability to complete detailed work accurately under pressure and to meet deadlines
* Ability to communicate with customers and employees in a professional manner
