Duties
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team.
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for various financial tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
Your role will involve a combination of general accounting duties and financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation and ensure the accuracy of financial data
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Assist with tax compliance and reporting activities
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Maintain documentation of accounting processes and procedures
Skills:
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and principles
- Knowledge of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements
- Proficiency in using accounting software, such as PeopleSoft or similar systems
- Experience in the financial services industry is preferred
- Familiarity with tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Ability to perform general ledger reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation
- Strong analytical skills for financial analysis and problem-solving
- Previous experience in public accounting is a plus
- Knowledge of technical accounting standards is desirable
