We are looking for a Charge Nurse (RN) to fill a full-time role in a variety of shifts, or a part-time role which will cover two day shifts per week, one of which will be every 7th weekend.

Job Summary
The Charge Nurse is responsible for directing patient care for designated shifts.
The position will demonstrate proficiency in administering the fundamentals of the nursing process.
Contributes to nursing assessment and the development of a nursing care plan while participating in the evaluation of nursing care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Works as part of an interdisciplinary team administering care to residents.
Assesses resident needs and modify care to best serve each resident.
Assess and provide resident care within established policies, procedures, and professional standards with consideration and respect for the residents’ choices, privacy, dignity, safety and independence.
Administers medications and treatments, reporting changes in residents’ condition and takes necessary actions.
Works in cooperation with the nursing staff in making provisions for residents and monitors care provided to ensure the residents receive accurate and safe care.
Communicates effectively with family members, physicians, and other appropriate individuals at all times and provides notifications when there are changes in resident’s condition or physician orders.
Completes various resident clinical records and forms including the care plan, daily resident charting, and medication administration record, lab results, etc.
Assists with orientation of new staff, provides ongoing instruction, and initiates disciplinary procedure as needed.
Actively supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Certified Medication Aides (CMA) ensuring staff are well informed of responsibilities.
Determines appropriate CNA assignments based on resident assessment, acuity, diagnosis and other care needs.
Participates in an on-call rotation with other members of the nursing team.
Qualifications
To perform this position successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and Experience:
Associates degree in nursing required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
Prior nursing experience preferred.
Licensure Certification:
Current RN licensure with the Board of Nursing in Minnesota
Current CPR certification

Strong supervisory skills to lead LPNs, CMAs & CNAs
