What you’ll get to do in this role:
Works with and assists physicians and nurses and provides technical support for patient care
Assists with obtaining and documentation of vital signs; placement of oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems; obtaining 12-lead EKGs; initiating and discontinuing peripheral IV and saline locks; collection, maintenance and care of specimens for laboratory analysis
Activates ground or air EMS for transfers, gathers and completes transfer paperwork as needed/able.
Performs clerical duties relating to patient care including answering telephone, making follow-up phone calls, assisting with discharges, directing and updating patients and families
Performs wound care, Foley catheter insertions, medication administration within scope of practice
Cleans and stocks carts, rooms, and changes linen, as required
LPN will perform Foley catheter insertions, and medication administration within scope of practice
You’re an excellent fit, if you have:
graduated from accredited Practical Nursing or EMT program
2 or more years experience working in an emergency department preferred
current MN LPN license or EMT certification, or the ability to obtain
current BLS preferred
2 or more years of EMS or acute care nursing experience preferred
excellent communicaiton and interpersonal skills
ability to keep calm and focused in emergent situations
excellent customer service skills
