Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and document patient progress and vital signs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and their families on disease management and treatment options
- Assist with procedures and surgeries as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical/surgical setting
- Proficiency in patient assessment, including physical examination and interpretation of diagnostic tests
- Knowledge of laboratory values and their significance in patient care
- Experience with administering Botox injections is a plus
- Familiarity with ICD-9 coding system for accurate documentation and billing purposes
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as Cerner or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with tube feeding protocols and procedures
