Position: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) Location: Grand Forks, ND 58206 Shift: 8 Hours Morning shift Duration: 13 weeks Pay package on 40 hours weekly Stipend $1162 Non taxable Taxable $2838 on W2 Total gross $4000 weekly *Job Description:* * Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient's self-report/symptoms of pain promptly and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients in the perioperative setting in collaboration with other health care providers.
Communicates plan of care with surgical team.
Provides pre-op and post-op care.
* Demonstrates a knowledge base of various procedures and surgical first assist techniques.
Follows principles of sterile technique.
* Demonstrates suturing skills including tying techniques, ligaturing vessels, wound closure and hemostasis.
* Works collaboratively with other health care providers to provide postoperative patient management which may include participating in postoperative rounds and assisting with patient discharge planning and identifying appropriate community resources as needed.
* Identifies and communicates unusual techniques/instruments with the operative team.
* Participates in measuring and monitoring Quality Indicator, outcomes.
* Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Certifications * Registered Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement | Prior to Start Date * Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) | National Institute of First Assisting (NISA) | Prior to Start Date * Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) | Competency & Credentialing Institute | Preferred * Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Prior to Start Date Notes * Must hold an unencumbered nursing license  prior to start.
* Position will be credentialed through Altru Health System’s credentialing process Job Type: Contract Pay: $95.
