Summary:
The Corporate Counsel advises and supports legal matters in assigned departments.
This position supports the health system with policies, contracts, training, bylaws and medical staff rules.
Essential Job Functions:
Creates and reviews contracts on behalf of staff in many department areas.
Provides legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations and privileges of the organization.
Performs legal review, research, and writing on matters that may impact the health system.
Provides resolution on business matters such as billing and insurance coverage by identifying legal solutions and recommending a course of action.
Advises and assists with employment matters within the organization.
Examines legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits.
Assists with privacy compliance and supports Privacy Officer and team as needed.
Acts as a liaison for other departments, offices, individuals and external agencies on a range of specified issues.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
