• Operate tractor trailers, medium and heavy weight trucks to pick up and deliver materials, equipment and supplies.
• Performs pre-trip and post trip inspections of tractor, securing trailer and load, devices and emergency equipment.
Inspect truck equipment and load, as well as lights, brakes, fuel, fluid levels, and tire pressures.
• Load and unload truck by hand, forklift, or pay loader as directed and assist in loading and unloading of materials and equipment.
• Drives truck in a safe manner at all times, always wearing safety belt.
• Read road maps and plan route from pick up to delivery point.
• Perform routine emergency repairs and keep truck compliant with all laws and policies.
• Follow a predetermined schedule of pickup and delivery; maintain log of work-related activities including materials and supplies transported as directed.
• Keeping accurate mileage, fuel logs and repairs needed in correlation to DOT elog/log books.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date log books in compliance with DOT regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain truck in accordance with company policy and DOT guidelines and regulations.
• Maintains record of inventory of tools, chains, chain binders and all other equipment on-board.
• Maintains, refuels, operates, loads and unloads truck in the safest, most efficient way.
Position Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• Commercial driver’s license- CDL
• 2 years of experience with CDL-A, or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
• Ability to travel; including overnight travel
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to withstand various weather conditions and extremes
• Must have the ability to lift and/or carry 45 lbs.
• This position will require bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, crouching, stooping, and lifting.
Will be required to safely mount and dismount machinery, reaching with arms and legs.
