S&S Transport is growing and we are looking to add another Driver Performance Coach to our team! This would be a great position for someone looking to get out of driving and looking to make the transition to the office.
Must have exceptional knowledge of CDL compliance, and great communication skills! The main focus of this position is to monitor over-the-road truck drivers, as well as help with compliance issues in order to meet Federal, State and Company mandates.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Counsel drivers relating to compliance issues, as well as help them meet monthly mileage goals.
- Maintain log data base including updating records, running reports, developing new reports and other duties as required.
- Monitor use of electronic logs, as well as review in-cab video recordings
-Assess driver trainees abilities, and coordinate driver trainers to help them graduate the driver training program and become a successful truck driver
- Assist and back up Safety Director, Safety Manager/Senior Compliance Specialist as needed.
- Perform general office duties including typing, copying, and filing as required.
- Prepare warning letters, file tickler maintenance, pull and close files as needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Considerable knowledge of CDL requirements (CDL holders are preferred for this position)
Considerable knowledge of equipment
Ability to maintain accurate records, assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports
Basic knowledge with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Techniques for effectively representing our company, including making effective public presentations and dealing with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds – face to face and over the phone
Exceptional driving and training skills
Patience and friendly disposition
Ability to accurately maintain and organize paperwork
Managing multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines
Preparing clear, concise, and informative reports, correspondence, and other written materials
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or GED, CDL with five years’ experience driving tractor trailer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
Licenses:
Must possess and maintain a valid class A CDL with a satisfactory driving record.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, as well as an outside environment, that could include extreme hot and cold temperatures and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings at various sites within and away from the office.
