Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
Qualifications: Experience with food preparation in a commercial setting, basic academic skills, human relation skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be 18 years of age or older.
Job Goal: Complete efficient and timely delivery of food products and kitchen supplies to satellite kitchens
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Load food products and supplies for delivery to school kitchens.
Fill orders and catering for delivery to school kitchens.
Follow HACCP procedures for handling food, supplies and equipment.
Arrange and conduct maintenance for vehicle daily/seasonal.
Clean hot boxes assigned to route.
Assist warehouse worker in filling orders, putting away groceries and supplies, cleaning warehouse as needed.
Assist with heavy lifting in kitchen area.
Assist with runs for office, catering, main kitchen, warehouse and special functions.
Complete other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk and stand.
Lift sixty (60) lbs.
occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl.
The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely.
Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others.
The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Terms of Employment: Nine (9) months, academic school year.
Evaluation: Annual written evaluation by Warehouse Manager and Child Nutrition Director.
