The Salvation Army Grand Forks is hiring a maintenance/custodian/driver position.
Qualifications
Two years driving experience with some customer relations experience helpful.
Work includes the ability to follow instructions, lifting and moving 75 lbs.
occasionally, prolonged standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, etc.
Must be a team player, a self-starter, and perform well with minimum supervision.
Must be willing to support the mission of The Salvation Army, pass required background checks, complete the Safe from Harm course within 90 days of hire, possess a valid drivers' license and meet the MVR driver's qualifications.
Position Summary
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the Grand Forks corps' facilities are neat and clean; to assist with the physical preparation for meetings and events in the corps community center; to maintain all working mechanical devices inside and outside the corps' facilities; to oversee the upkeep of exterior grounds of all locations and arrange for regular maintenance of vehicles.
Use thrift store truck to pick up donated articles, make deliveries, and make disposition of unwanted material.
This is a regular part time 29 hours a week position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Keep all floors clean, vacuumed, swept, mopped and waxed as necessary.

Empty trash baskets, deliver trash to dumpsters.
.
Maintain clean chapel, pews vacuumed, dusted, woodwork polished, excess paper to trash, Bibles and song books replaced and tidy at all times.

Clean windows in building as needed – inside and outside.
.
Clean all bathrooms (7), maintain sufficient toilet paper, hand towels, soap, clean toilet bowl and sinks, countertops, replace air fresheners, etc.
.
Using appropriate power equipment as well as hand equipment, remove snow from entryways and sidewalks as necessary.
See that lawn at 1600 University Avenue is mowed and properly cared for and is neat and presentable.

Replace light bulbs as necessary.

Set up and take down tables and chairs for meetings, events, etc.

Maintain clean Janitor's closets, request/order supplies as necessary.
.
Maintain clean tables and countertops in fellowship hall, kitchen and classrooms.
.
Dust tops of file cabinets, desks, bookshelves (as reasonable) in individual office areas.
.
Schedule and deliver vehicles to vendors for maintenance and repairs as necessary.
.
Clean interior of vehicles on a weekly basis and exterior of vehicles as needed.
.
Pick up, load and unload monthly food truck orders.
.
Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with customers, donors, co-workers and supervisors.
This includes but is not limited to such actions as: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors and customers; respect of others' property and person; and professional and appropriate communication to and about customers, donors, co-workers and supervisors.
