General Summary: Warehouse and Delivery Personnel are accountable to Store Management, the Furniture Department Manager and Assistant Manager.
Warehouse and Delivery Personnel should respond to any reasonable request from Home Furnishings Representatives.
Job Functions: Delivery duties include the prompt and courteous delivery and set up of a customers furniture.
Deliveries should be made as closely to the time scheduled as possible * Delivery entails the pulling of merchandise from either of the warehouse or sales floor, inspecting for defects, adjusting and touching up the merchandise if required, and full assembly.
All merchandise should be properly padded and secured to the delivery truck to insure safe transport * When arriving at a customer's home or business where the furniture is to be placed, the greatest of care should be taken to not damage any portion of their home or furnishings.
Overshoes must be removed before entering the home if there is any chance of tracking on their carpets * Furniture should be placed where the customer specifies in the home and completely set up.
* Upon completion of the delivery you are to mark the delivery slip with the initials of the two delivery people.
Collect the COD balance if necessary.
The delivery slips must be filed upon return to the store.
* All of the company vehicles are to be handled in a safe and responsible manner.
A daily check of the vehicles is to be done to comply with ICC regulations.
* All delivery vehicles are to be stocked with the necessary tools and equipment for the delivery and set-up of furniture to be delivered.
* On occasion, repair of stock merchandise or customer merchandise needs to be preformed.
* The warehouses are to be kept in a clean and orderly fashion.
Empty boxes, packing materials, etc.
, are to be discarded and the floor is to be swept.
Housekeeping of the warehouses and outside areas are to to be performed on a regular basis so as to keep it as neat and orderly as possible at all times.
* Stocking of the sales floor is to be performed as needed when the merchandise has been sold or displays need to be changed.
* Sold tags are to be collected daily and tagged immediately.
Job Requirements: * Physically able to lift and carry all furniture * Hold a valid drivers license * Pass health screening physically * 21 or older Job Type: Full-time Pay: $17.
